Job description
Mission Brief
As a Working Student in the Loads & Dynamics team, you will be at the heart of launch vehicle development. Every structural component, subsystem, and design decision ultimately depends on one fundamental question: what environments and loads will the vehicle experience during flight?
Our team provides the engineering foundation that answers this question. By combining expertise in structural loads, dynamics, aerodynamics, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics, we predict and characterize the complex physical environments encountered throughout all phases of flight.
You will work directly with experienced engineers on real development activities, flight data analysis, and engineering methods used to support current and future launch vehicle programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with aerospace engineering challenges while contributing to safe, reliable, and independent access to space.
Your Role in Our Space Mission :
Flight & Test Data Analysis
Support the verification and validation of loads and dynamics methodologies
Develop tools and scripts for efficient data processing and comparison
Compare analytical and numerical predictions against test and flight results
Identify opportunities to improve models, processes, and engineering methods
Post-Processing & Visualization
Develop and improve automated workflows for simulation and test data evaluation
Generate flow visualizations, section views, and engineering-relevant data extracts
Sensors & Instrumentation
Support sensor-related activities, including documentation and configuration management
Perform trade studies and evaluate instrumentation solutions for flight and test campaigns
Multidisciplinary Engineering Support
Contribute to a broad range of Loads & Dynamics activities across the vehicle development lifecycle
Gain exposure to structural loads, structural dynamics, aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, and thermal analysis
Qualification Checklist
Currently enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree (e.g. Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, Physics or similar)
Interest in data analysis, simulation, and physical systems
Programming experience with Python or Matlab
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
Strong communication and organizational skills, with professional proficiency in English.
Located in or near Munich, as the role requires regular on-site presence
Bonus Skills
Basic knowledge of structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, or aerospace engineering
Experience with CFD postprocessing tools such as ParaView, Tecplot, StarCCM+, Ansys
Experience with GitLab
