If that sounds like you, let’s build what’s next.   The Role: As an Associate, Credit Risk Operations, you will be conducting credit risk reviews of Airwallex’s clients within a team environment, with a focus on the ongoing monitoring of clientele and written-off portfolio management. The team works collaboratively with clients, business development teams, risk analysts, compliance and legal departments to support growth objectives while mitigating and managing risk. Responsibilities: 1. Serve as a founding member of the Collections team, driving the architecture of team playbooks, escalation matrices, and recovery strategies as Airwallex scales globally. 2. Partner with Engineering and Product to spec, build, and optimize automated collections systems and interaction logging. 3. Collaborate with Accounting to establish a bad-debt provisioning framework based on portfolio risk, customer communications, and repayment adherence. 4. Directly engage high-risk or delinquent accounts (missed payments, negative balances, credit limit breaches) to negotiate firm, mutually viable repayment structures. 5. Conduct deep-dive investigations into account activity and root-cause risks to design tailored recovery plans. 6. Partner with Commercial and Risk Operations to resolve sensitive cases, protecting revenue while minimizing credit losses. 7. Ensure all collection strategies comply with local and international financial regulations and debt recovery standards. Qualifications: 1. 5+ years of direct experience in B2B debt collection, commercial recovery management, or credit risk operations within fintech, SaaS, or commercial banking. 2. Solid understanding of bad-debt provisioning, credit risk dynamics, and debt collection compliance frameworks. 3. Effective communication and negotiation skills. 4. High proficiency in English, both written and verbal. 5. Be highly curious and thoughtful - a proactive self-starter with a sense of urgency and bias for action, under a fast-paced environment. 6. A results-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through. 7. Be comfortable with complex data and analytics to draw meaningful insights.
